Map and Directions

Leave the M6 at Junction 36, take the A590 and then the A591 towards Windermere. In Windermere turn left by the Tourist Information Centre and follow the road towards Bowness. Half a mile down the road you will see Glencree on the right, opposite the Catholic Church.

Windermere train station is at the end of a branch line from Oxenholme The Lake District (near Kendal) on the main West Coast line. Direct trains run from Windermere, via Oxenholme, to as far south as Manchester Airport.
